The Madison Historical Society is pleased to announce its newest event, “Costume in Detail,” at the Allis-Bushnell House on August 9 at 2 pm. MHS intern Clare Barnett will discuss nineteenth- and twentieth-century dresses, wedding gowns, parasols, and more. Come learn about fabrics, sewing techniques, draping, and the stories that all garments tell. Gowns from our collection will be on display, and reproductions will be available to explore more fully.

Refreshments will be offered.
