White linen coat, collarless, with silk crewel embroidery in shades of yellow and gold down the front and sleeve cuffs. Two attached pocket flaps (no pockets) adorn the front; side seams open to waist. C. 1775; good condition with some stains and fading.
This jacket belonged to Col. William Prescott who commanded the American Forces at Bunker Hill in June, 1775.
